Guillermo Garibay is a retired Pueblo attorney who has lived in this community since 1999. He retired from the Colorado State Public Defender office in 2006 and then continued in private practice as a criminal defense and immigration lawyer, until retiring two years ago. As a career Public Defender, Guillermo lived and worked in Greeley, Colorado Springs, Durango, and finally Pueblo, Colorado.
While living in Durango, Guillermo’s wife Mona Garibay was the maestra of the dance troupe, Danzantes de Durango. Their sons were performers in this troupe and Guillermo was the business manager (glorified roadie) of the dance troupe. After moving to Pueblo, Guillermo served on a number of community boards, including the ARC and boards for local folklorico groups. His love and appreciation for the arts have led to his continuing support for his artist sons who pursue their dreams by producing music and making films in Denver.
