Impact Youth Initiative Recycling Statue Going Home
PUEBLO, Colo. —Impact Youth Initiative is excited to announce their interactive recycling statue is moving to its permanent home! On Tuesday June 16, 2020 at 12 p.m. Eric McCue, artist, and Impact Youth Initiative will be moving the giant statue to El Pueblo History Museum.
In 2019, Impact invited local sculptor Eric McCue to brainstorm a sculpture that would be interactive and send a message to the community in support of the need to recycle. After many drafts, a giant plastic bottle design was created with a cage to house plastic bottles. Students participated at all levels-design, fabrication, and welding. Those who did not know how to weld, were able to learn how-to from Mr. McCue.
