PUEBLO, Colo. — The Pueblo Creative Corridor announces auditions on Saturday, May 21, from 1 to 3:30 p.m., at the Pueblo Riverwalk’s Grand Staircase for artists interested in participating in this summer’s Street Beat. Performers and visual artists of all types are needed: classical, jazz, country, bluegrass, pop, musicians and bands, dancers, actors, comedians, jugglers, magicians, painters, poets and visual artists such as caricature drawers, face painters and origami makers. Everyone in the community is invited to watch the entertainers perform for free.
Selected artists will be offered a contracted, paid, part-time summer position with scheduled performance times. Performers average $15 plus tips. Performers submitting audition forms by May 9 at 5 p.m. will be guaranteed an audition spot.
Street Beat will take place in the Creative Corridor from June to October. Street performances will transform the Creative Corridor’s three districts – Mesa Junction, Union Avenue Historic and Main Street – into an outdoor performing and visual arts scene, as in past years.

Street Beat is sponsored by Sonntag Family Dentistry, Southern Colorado Orthodontics, Greater Pueblo Chamber of Commerce, Pueblo Arts Alliance and Colorado Creative Industries.
